Ana Maria Patino

ana maria patinoDr. Patiño-Fernández received her doctoral degree from the University of Miami in Clinical Psychology, where she specialized in Pediatric Psychology, working with children with chronic illness. Subsequently, Dr. Patiño-Fernández was selected to join the internship class at Children’s Hospital Boston, an affiliate of Harvard University Medical School. After receiving her PhD, she continued her specialization in pediatric psychology at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Here she received unique training as a postdoctoral fellow and member of the Oncology team.

Dr. Patiño-Fernández served on the faculty at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine (UM). As Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, she conducted psychological and psycho-educational evaluations as part of a large interdisciplinary team, provided consultation services to the pediatric Endocrinology team, and provided outpatient behavioral consultations and therapy to children with a chronic illness and their families. In addition, Dr. Patiño-Fernández has conducted research with children with diabetes and obesity and their families to help develop culturally appropriate evidenced based interventions to improve the emotional and physical health of the children. She has published numerous manuscripts and presented locally, nationally, and internationally on these topics as well. While at UM, Dr. Patino-Fernandez was also an active member of the training program, providing clinical supervision to graduate students, psychology interns, and postdoctoral fellows.

Dr. Patiño-Fernández is bilingual in Spanish and English. She performs therapy and evaluation services in the language that is most comfortable to the child and family.

Dr. Patiño-Fernández is a member in good standing of the American Psychological Association and is bound by the ethics and guidelines of that organization. In addition, she is a member of the Florida Psychological Association, and the Society of Pediatric Psychology, where she was elected to the Board for the 2013-2016 term. She is currently an editorial board member for the journal Clinical Practice in Pediatric Psychology.

Reiki Circle Get ready for Reiki in a completely different experience! Feel the power of this enchanting art of healing. An exclusive Reiki Circle is a gathering where practitioners can relax! These circles are meant as occasions to socialize with other Reiki healers, support each other’s paths as healers and to exchange Reiki treatments with one another. Open Reiki Circles are invitational types of gatherings which allow the general public to come and experience Reiki in a group setting. Public circles are mainly intended to bring awareness to Reiki and to help educate anyone who is curious about learning about Reiki. These gatherings also help to promote Reiki practitioners in the area.


Spiritual Guidance and Healing – A session with Ana Maria Pineda focuses on bringing the mind, body, spirit connection into wholeness. Each session is tailored to the individual needs of the person at the time of the session. In-person, Skype and long distance sessions available.
